When I started driving my 3, I noticed a lot of brake pedal travel, I wasn't sure if the pedal should feel stiffer. I did not have a day go by when I didn't receive at least 1 text update, and they always responded to my replies within an hour or two. This is from a service center in a major metro area. Sure enough, around 11:30AM, received a text that the car was ready to be picked up! Less than a week after I dropped it off! As a bonus, they charged me up to 80% and updated me to 50.6. Then, on the morning of the next day, around 9am, I got a text that they've started working on it and expect to have it ready by the afternoon. The next day I got another text saying it's still queued for the shop.

Sure enough, the next day I got another text from the SC saying they received the part but there were a few cars ahead of mine for the shop. I was very pessimistic, expecting THIS to be the bottleneck to get my car back. The next day I got a text that they confirmed it's the brake booster and they've ordered the part. They gave me a new Model S 75D with 300 miles on the odometer as a loaner and sent me on my way. He said it was likely the brake booster, a part they didn't have in stock because it's not a common repair. Turns out, they had a tech check out the car within ~15 minutes of my arrival. When I mentioned they probably won't have an appointment for a month, she said "No worries, I'll reach out to them to let them know you'll be on your way to see them in a couple hours." When got to the service center, I expected them to take my key and give me a loaner since I knew they were so busy. She offered to have it towed to service if I didn't feel safe, but I said I could drive it. She saw a warning that regenerative braking was disabled and saw the "brakes" warning light. I was really pleased to be speaking with someone after only a 10 minute wait, the same person that took my call was also able to remotely connect to the car and check it out. Once I arrived I called Tesla's support number to explain what happened. I drove my short commute to work without a problem, just being extra safe.

I DID have brakes, but just no power assistance. I pushed harder on the brakes, and the pedal started to vibrate as if the ABS was working, but the pedal was only traveling 20% of its normal range. An orange "brakes" warning indicator was lit up on the display. I noticed the car creeping forward (I have creep off) until I realized I was just slowly rolling down my driveway. Got into my car one morning when it was about 35F outside, pushed the brake and move the stalk down to drive.
